Why Register?
There are many settlement funds created by the resolution of legal cases that are brought by federal agencies or private litigants each year.
 
The registration process is designed to assist potential beneficiaries in making claims against those settlement funds. Registering enables participating claims administrators to notify registrants directly about fund additions or changes.
 
Individuals who would like to receive notice of new settlement funds for which they may qualify as beneficiaries should register. You are able to indicate what information you would like to receive and whether you would prefer it via email or US Postal Service mail. Once registered, when a new settlement fund is created, you will immediately be notified. In addition, you can elect to receive monthly reminders of distribution deadlines and information changes for all participating settlement funds.
 
In addition to the above information, Institutional filer registrants can also elect to receive notification of settlements and reminders of settlement events. If desired, preferences set in your profile for filing claims can be forwarded directly to the claims administrators for settlement fund distributions to facilitate the processing and payment of claims.
 
Registrants create a secure user login and password to safeguard your information in accordance with the SFC privacy policy. Registered users may update their profiles at anytime. If elected, those changes can be forwarded to the individual settlement fund administrators so your information, as maintained on the SFC site, can be updated in one place and shared with all relevant fund administrators.
